July is fantasy month! A time where the OutSmart team releases items, wears, and spaces with a fantasy vibe. There have been multiple updates already, and it doesn't look like they're stopping anytime soon. Let's review what has been released thus far in Part 1 of a 2 part fantasy month review series of blog posts!

The month began like every other month with a release of the monthly wearable. This month we received Pearl the Friendly Dragon, who gives well-rounded stat boosts of +20 speed, +20 health, and +10 arcane resistance. I often find that well-rounded monthly wear stat boosters are more popular among SmallWorlds citizens. Pearl also comes complete with a spiky tail and an eye-blinking animation, but the picture (direct your eyes to the avatar with the staff) makes it look as if the yellow spot (is it a gem?) on her head has an animation as well but I watched that wear like a hawk to see if it did anything but nothing seemed to occur. Suspicious... To see SmallWorlds' original post on this subject, click here!

In addition to the monthly wearable, a new super rare wearable was also released alongside Pearl and with the same toothy smile. Damien the Dark Dragon joined fantasy month for 24 hours on July 1st and was taken off the market at 12:00 a.m., July 2nd. If you missed this wear, don't fret. You can find it in wears and rares shops for around 5,000 gold. I don't see their price rising anytime soon, but it will, just the same as any other wear. But wait, can we pause and just appreciate the animations of this wear? Check out that sick sparkly blue stuff Damien is spitting! Is it fire? Or pixie dust? Whichever it is, I've never seen an animation of this caliber on a wearable before. All the more reason to get your hands on this one-of-a-kind! I'm going to be honest, normally I don't get too excited about monthly kudos because in my opinion, they have gotten a bit tacky. I just can't help comparing them to the old loyalties SmallWorlds used to give out, now those were something! When I first saw July's kudos, I instantly got an image of a whimsical land where, instead of street lamps lining the sides of the roads, Kudos Lantern Staffs would take their place along little footpaths through the forest. And who doesn't like the additional 250 gold that comes with the grand prize? I'm not complaining! This really got me excited to see what else OutSmart would release during fantasy month! The Kudos Lantern Staff will give the user +10 speed, +10 health, and +10 nature resistance. To see SmallWorlds' original post on this subject, click here!

Next came the news that previous fantasy month unique items, specifically the ones listed above, are "turning rare". These seasonal items will now adorn the yellow R logo that somehow adds so much more value to the price tag. In all honesty, I never really felt attracted to these items, with the exception of the Bobz. I absolutely love the variety of Bobz that come with fantasy month. They give the original Bobz (Plum Pixie and Smoky Dragon) a delightful twist with different appearances and colors. I would highly recommend grabbing them before their gone! Now here's the kind of fantasy twist I like to see! The Fantasy Deer Antlers were the first fantasy month themed item to hit the Deluxe Spin To Win wheel. Making their appearance on July 4th, these magical antlers protrude from your avatar's head, and they're BIG. They come equipped with a shrouded sparkle animation that adds to the magical aspect of these beauties. They'll boost your stats by +15 speed, +15 health, and +15 nature resistance, which is odd to me given the set up in the picture. You'd think it would have some sort of frost resistance. Oh well. You might find these antlers easier in shops, because the win factor on this one is, well, 1. But if you are looking to purchase this item from wears and rares shops, expect prices around the 8,000-10,000 price range. I project their price to drop a little bit more, so long as they are on the wheel, but skyrocket as soon as they are taken off. To see SmallWorlds' original post on this subject, click here!

I love wearable weapons, don't get me wrong. They're super cool and can really make on outfit complete, but I've always been a little salty about them. When OutSmart first released weapons (of the PvP kind) I thought your avatar would be able to hold them, such as the avatars are holding the weapons in the picture above. But that was not the case, and was actually kind of a disappointment to me. Enough with my rant, I'm here to review three all new rare fantasy themed weapons which were released on July 6th, the Play Magic Staff, Play Magic Crossbow, and Play Magic Sword. Don't ask me what makes them magical, I don't know. But their animations are dope! Personally, I like the Magic Staff's animation the most. The Magic Crossbow comes in second, and the Magic Sword...? Not to worry, the Magic Sword has a cool purple glint animation. I'll put a picture below, enjoy my naked body. ;)

So sexy. Anyways, the big emphasis on these weapons is their requirements. In the recent update, SmallWorlds has made improvements and advancements for higher-leveled players. This includes Citizen Levels, which you will need a lot of if you want to equip any of these weapons. Here are some stats! The Play Magic Staff gives +25 speed, +10 health, and +25 frost resistance, and you'll need 140 Citizen Levels to wear it. The Play Magic Crossbow gives +35 speed, +25 health, and +25 fire resistance, and you'll need 220 Citizen Levels to wear it. And finally, the Play Magic Sword gives +50 speed, +25 health, and +25 arcane resistance, and you'll need 340 Citizen Levels to wear it. Maybe the next SmallWorlds weapons will be able to be held as decoration, and have PvP fire functionality. Just maybe... To see SmallWorlds' original post on this subject, click here!

We were gifted another fantasy themed Deluxe Spin To Win rare on July 11th. Introducing the Play Power Swords! This isn't the first released sword that can be worn on your back (lookin' at you, Michonne's Katana), which tells us that these items are super popular, and not to mention rare as well. The Power Swords, just like the Fantasy Antlers, also have a win factor of 1. If you're looking to buy these from the shops, well, I haven't even found any for sale quite yet, but expect prices upwards of 10,000+ gold. These duel blades are the first of their kind, and emit a flashing red-blue/purple spotlight on your avatar. Kind of reminds me of flashing police lights. They will give you a stats boost of +15 speed, +15 health, and +15 fire resistance. Another fantastical win from the Deluxe Spin To Win wheel! An always welcome update, new avatar hair and face options are always popular among the people, I don't care what that fairy lady in the picture says. She's lovin' it! Anyways, SmallWorld's introduced four new make up styles for both females AND males on July 13th. As you can see from the picture above, new fantasy-inspired eye make up designs can complete any look. Bonus feature! They are stackable! So you can wear one, two, three, or all four for an interesting eye look. Just pay attention to the order in which you apply them, and you must be a VIP in order to wear these new options. Don't I look fabulous?

Mmmmmmm, too good. #nobrows To see SmallWorlds' original post on this subject, click here!

Next up, in the traditional spirit of fantasy month, SmallWorlds received three new fantasy-inspired gowns on July 14th. The Elegance Leather Villager Gown will boost your stats by +15 speed, +15 health, and +15 shadow resistance. The Elegance Nature Gown will boost your stats by +25 speed, +25 health, and of course +25 nature resistance. The Elegance Fire Queen Gown will boost your stats by +35 speed, +35 health, and you guessed it, +35 fire resistance, but you'll need to be VIP to wear this stunning piece. I have never really favored these types of outfits just because there is limited room for customizability. Sure you could throw on a head piece or hold something, maybe even glitch some shoes on or a necklace, but what you see is what you get. Although, I'm kind of liking that Villager Gown, with its neutral tones and gold accents. And these gowns do come with capes... To see SmallWorlds' original post on this subject, click here!

I must have fallen down the rabbit hole again, because it seems I'm back in Wonderland! That's right, also on July 14th, a new fantasy space was released, entitled "Wonderland". This space features four interconnecting floating islands in space, complete with giant mushrooms, glowing plants, butterflies, and a sparkling waterfall! Upon entering the space you'll notice that your natural color is a bit tainted, and changes from a brown/tan to shades of pink and blue as you explore the space. Don't know what I'm talking about? Experience it now and head on over to the space here! Wonderland is apart of a limited time deal found in the SmallWorlds Shop. Once again, I couldn't find a price on this space in gold because it is so newly released when I was typing this up, but expect prices of 10,000 gold or more. It truly is another unique space, and I enjoyed it so much that I actually held a photoshoot here, inspired by fantasy month and the space itself. You can see the three-part photo series on my Instagram later this month! To see SmallWorlds' original post on this subject, click here!

I have always enjoyed fantasy month on SmallWorlds. Personally I'm a fantasy geek myself. I love all things imaginable and out of this world! I think some of the most memorable things about fantasy month that make it so special to me is getting to see all the insanely cool items OutSmart releases into SmallWorlds. Also because the very first fantasy month was held during my birth month (August). And also maybe because the only big ticket item I've won from the Deluxe Spin To Win Wheel was this:

And I still have it:

You thought I was kidding. Ha. Regardless, fantasy month will always hold a special place in my virtual heart.

This has been my review of the first half of fantasy month, 2017! Stay tuned to the end of the month to see part 2 of my fantasy month review where I will review all the new wears, rares, items, spaces, and updates released from July 16th - July 31st, 2017. But until then, look out for more blog posts and updates on my virtual life. Thanks for reading!
